Bell Ringing

The six bells are rung regularly for Sunday morning service which starts approximately 30 minutes before service time.

Bell ringing practices take place every Monday of the week. For Bank Holidays check the Calendar.

Fenstanton links with Hilton, Houghton, and Holywell. The ringing venues are as follows:

  • 1st Monday                      Hilton
  • 2nd Monday                     Houghton
  • 3rd Monday                     Fenstanton
  • 4th Monday                     Holywell
  • 5th Monday                     Venues will be shown on the Calendar

Bell ringing practices start at 7:30 p.m. and finishes at 9:00 p.m. Visitor ringers are most welcome to join us on these practice nights. We ring call changes and a variety of methods from Plain Bob upto some Surprise methods.

Fenstanton does run a 'Beginners' practice on a Tuesday night 7:30 p.m. for anyone who wishes to learn the art or improve and gain experience in bell control, including 'ringing up' and 'ringing down'. This practice finishes by 8:30 p.m. and welcomes people of all ages and abilities. This practice may not run every Tuesday as it is subject to demand, it also does not meet on the Tuesday following the 3rd Monday of the month when ringing takes place at Fenstanton.
